Background: I have worked for The National Archives' for the past 5 years first as a Webmaster then promoted to Web Developer / Designer. I have created a mobile service, RSS feeds, podcast service as well as designed many of their microsites.
User Centred Design is a major factor in my work with all projects adhering to strict accessiblity and usability guidelines.

Background: A double award winning industry leading website with the highest standards of accessibility and usability while not compromising design. Jointly developed with another designer collaborating on the design, architecture, creative accessibilty solutions which included working with blind students and partially sighted staff.

Background: Domesday Book is The National Archives' most treasured record. I designed and developed the entire website to offer fully fluid CSS while ensuring minimum AA standards. which recieved over 1,000,000 visitors in the first 2 weeks of launch. There was widespread media coverage in newspapers, TV and online.

Background: Plots Human Rights from 1215 to the present day. Co-produced site collaborating on Information Architecture, coding templates in XHTML and CSS. Undertook a content and code review before launch to ensure at least AA compliance.

Background: I developed all aspects of the website while maintaining excellent rapport with the client. This included: helping the client create a brief, structuring the information, builing templates, wireframing, user testing, developing Photoshop mockups designs and XHTML / CSS coding.

Background: Charting migration to England for the past 200 years funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund. I was the Website Manager for 3 years looking after all technical aspects of the website, dealing with clients, writing briefs & requirements catalogues, fixing issues within databases, ASP code, XML and HTML.
Moving Here was built using many techologies, contractors and bespoke systems so I was responsible for ensuring all systems smoothly interfaced with one other.

Background:Currently freelance designing and building a website for a professional aviation photographer. The site will offer fast access to 1000s of images for marketing, publishing and selling. Its bespoke systems will allow easy e-commerce payments and the ability to run complex searches for photos.

Background: The site's third major redesign is researching technologies that can open up data for reuse, such as building APIs or providing raw data in XML and other formats to the public. This website offers searching and browsing on records which have no paper equivalent, digital only. I was responsible for research into potential use of ontologies, OWL, RDF, and semantics. I created paper prototypes, wireframes using Axure Pro, iterating designs using a self-developed hybrid of Agile and UCD methods, then producing accesible XHTML designs. To be launched end of April 2008.

Background: A holiday lettings site based in Penzance, Cornwall. Client's current website needed a major refresh which included restructuring layout and content, strenghtening brand, visual appeal, better photography to showcase the lettings, and ensuring it was an accesible website. There is a calendar and form feature built using PHP and MySQL to automate bookings.
